The phonographs made by APG are commenly referred to as "Krefelder" phonographs. The APG was one og the larger phonograph manufacturers and one of the ones that we possibly hear about the least. In fact, in the year 1901 (according to the Deutsches Museum), they were the largest phonograph manufacturer in Germany. Their products in Germany are scarce, and better known are the machines they made for the Edison Bell company in Britain.

However their meteoric rise was balanced by a meteoric fall and they filed for bankruptsy in 1904.
